thanks for the offer, but 'balls' , along with whatever it is that makes the average person capable of everyday physical tasks more demanding than changing a light bulb is clearly what I lack.

I had the dream that I could upgrade my stereo unit, and bought the stuff. Then to my horror i learned about the need to adjust the brackets, and knew then i wasn't going to be up to the job. I didn't think I wasn't even going to be able to remove the stereo - my inability to handle even the atc trim is just the final joke.

Things like this are beyond me. To most of you they are easy - to me, they are utterly insurmountable. For instance, since you posted someone else has posted sayign there is another clip in the middle. Had I have yanked it, i'd now have a shattered atc trim along with all the wasted money and time and frustrations to cope with.

I've wasted my money, and my time, and worse still, all of yours here. If I don't stop now i will also have ruined my car. I'm done. thank you to all of you, but unless I can find a place that will attempt the job for me, I'm stuffed and had best offload this stuff or get a refund if it is still possible. And I don't think I will find a shop who will get involved with hacksawing and filing the brackets to get it in, so that as they say is that.

I'm sorry to have wasted all your time. I've never felt so pig sick in all my life.

Why not come over to Wolverhampton for a weekend?
Yes I am serious. book a hotel for the night if you don't want a long drive each way.

See the link below for the nano meets, everyone is welcome, if your contribution to the day is making somebody a cup of tea, that is considered more than enough

There will be many capable people there to help and show you just what is needed. Probably a good thing that you have decided not to go any further as the plug on the tuner can be a pig.

I should be there on the Sat but I never promise anything nowadays

Really? You'd do that? Are you sure? I'm speechless.

I would be so grateful to you if you really don't mind - peterborough is an hour or two for me unless I'm wrong, i'm near dartford tunnel. More than manageable. Perhaps if I pm you, we can discuss further?

All i'm trying to do is fit the widescreen headunit, and I have the widescreen tv unit required also. If i can get the damn thing out of its bracket that one shouldn't tax me too greatly.

I really can't thank you enough for the offer. Its my hope I can learn enough from the experience that I won't be incapable of doing the simple things!

my wife is in hospital at the moment so I can't do overnight stuff for now, but I'd love to come to a future nano at some time, as I always hoped I could learn stuff. thanks for this offer too. Tea i can do also thankyou, to both you and Stubie for the most unexepected kindness. I apologies for getting emotional about it all, i'm not having a great time at the moment!

Dartford Tunnel to Peterborough should be less than 90 mins. Nice run up in your 75.

PM me with a suitable day, I'm free most weekends.

i wanted to publicly thank Stubie for his help - I went down to his place and had the pleasure of meeting him, had a nice chat about the cars, and he sorted out what I was unable to - I now am the proud owner of a 16:9 widescreen setup, with a bm54 tuner. Which I wouldn't be without him - thank you. You are a gent sir!
