the unit will not work with the kbus wire disconnected.this wire tells the head unit the other parts are there. my sat nav dissapeared of the screen which was down to the kbus wire working loose

Hi again my friends
Ok quick update found where the broken wires where from
Thanks guys
Now have a radio ........radio 2 never sounded so gooooooooooood
still no C.D says no discs ,No sat nav
put another disc in 2003 but kept rejecting,
Going to have another go in lunch hour
One more ? where might i find the plug for the rear blind
Had the console out no sign of the elusive square plug
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

Have a look at the square plug in the boot that connects the radio module. There are two smaller plugs, one of them sorts the cd audio, just check the connections.

The plug for the rear blind may be wrapped in protective foam

further on I now have the cd working changed the unit
and works fine
still no satnav menue
changed the unit for a known working one with the disc
still nothing comming up on the screen
btw mine is a mk11 changed for a later one from an 03 plate
put it back into 03 car still works fine
so its not blowing the units up??????
any sugestions welcome

Does anyone local have a MK11 satnav that i can try in mine so that I can see if the wiring is ok I know the radio mod and the tv mod work

Ok now have all working satav etc , now have a mk3 unit
anyone know why on the way to work 8 miles it asks me to do at least 3 u turns
and on the way home even more!!!!!

It could be that you have local knowledge of a better route but the computer calculates that there is a shorter or quicker route. - depending on the route type you have chosen.
To someone without that local knowlege it would appear a better route and they would agree with the nav computer.

Mine always tries to take ma different route home which on paper would be quicker as its an A road v the B road I take

Will delete all adresses from unit and see if it clears the u turns
