Best Polish ever? meguiars or glym - Page 3

Actually, thought I would pop up to Halfords to see what is there. I came across the Meguiar's range. I got a Mit, extra bucket, clay kit and NXT generation Tech Wax and their car shampoo.

I washed the car using two buckets as recommended. I then used the clay on the back and roof of the car, followed by a polish. As I said, I have used Autoglym for years, but always found the resin polish to shower the car with white flakes during polishing. The Meguiar's polish leaves no trace once it is polished off - a much more satisfying effort!

Standing back after polishing with Meguiar's I have to say the shine IS far deeper looking. It may be because I used clay on the car first, meaning Autoglym may have looked as good, but my impression was a deeper and 'wetter' shine than I have ever seen before.

No doubt I will try the other polishes recommended here at some point, but I am very happy with Meguiar's for now.

I will have to change the picture in my sig now :lol:

AndyB (.Org) was my inspiration to take it to another level.

I've always enjoyed cleaning & polishing cars but now I know about preventing swirls, claying, the difference between polish & wax - and so on!

for darker cars nothing beats a clay, polish with AG SRP, two layers of AG EGP and topped off with a couple of layers of nattys blue.

for lighter cars carlack seems to be the best i've used so far.

For the money and by hand nothing beats it.

I spent all morning using Mequiars one-two-three system, which works out rather expensive but what the heck.
Finished off with the cannauba wax, its simply amazing deep wet looking lustre shine on copperleaf.
Alloys polished, tyres blacked, car looks like brand new!

Meguiars is simply the best, above autoglym by a mile, but i just have to try this bubble gum stuff to see if its better......

but for now its meguiars all the way........

Depending on the halfords, it depends on the range thet stock! A super store will have the whole range ogf meguiars a small shop just a little amount of stock.

I too have just polished a couple of panels with Meguiar's one-two-three system, after I had used their 'quick clay'. I must say the shine is MUCH better than anything I have achieved with AutoGlym - and I had sworn by their products for years!

When you say you finished off with cannuba wax, do you mean Meguiar's third step or another product?

No doubt some of the other products listed on this group may be better than Meguiar's, but I had better use their products up before trying them. For now, I am more than happy.

Yep, my town store hasn't any, but the Stevenage super store stocks most of the range.

Sorry , Yes i meant step 3 of the system.
My mate told me at work last night, there is a meguiars in a tin, in paste form which is awsome!
Dont know what to try next! I will take some daylight pics tmw for you, but mine looks stunning.

Only problem is, i work near a quarry, and you turn up 4 work looking like a new pin, and whern you get back to your car its got a FILM OF DUST ON IT!
