As your 75 never had sat nav the TV aerial wire won't be there.
You will have to run a coax [tv] cable from the TV module to the TV amp shown in the picture. Dave T |

The TV cable should be in the boot area part of your new sat nav loom. Did you get the small TV amp shown in the picture with your loom ?? Dave T |

to be honest i am pee'd off about it all - i found the sat nav i have bought on ebay and it said the complete kit so i thought everything would be there but when the member who is helping me saw what i had got he said i did not have the complete kit so i have had to buy the brackets, the bit that lives under the parcel shelf, the plastic cover that sits in the spare wheel well and the side carpet with the cut out for the disc drive off seancar this week. Its like i said to the member who is helping me i know nothing about what is needed to make these built in sat navs work so i thought i would have everything when i saw the ad on ebay saying "complete highline sat nav set up for Rover 75, BMW, Land Rover" as it saying under my avatar:- You cant fix being stupid Thanks for all your help Dave |

Craig, the little gold connector you mention in the picture that has no lead to it is the diversity lead for the radio tuner.
That unit in the picture is the radio tuner and has nothing to do with the video or TV display, that's the other box with the blue and white connectors. The diversity plug was not used in post project drive cars, I assume that the donor car was a 2002 or later car? The loom would originally have had a small coax cable that went to the passenger side D pillar and would attach to the diversity radio amplifier. Later cars did away with that unTit and had the non diversity one instead (which is smaller). Diversity amp: Non diversity amp: The diversity amp would use all four radio elements in the rear screen switching from one to another if the signal dropped below a certain strength. My 2002 75 with highline has the non diversity amp and is missing that cable. So my radio tuner in the boot also just has a vacant little gold plug. So that connector is a red herring regarding the lack of video to the bordmonitor. Do you hear the fan running in the video module when it's all hooked up? If not, then it is not connected properly. |

Thanks for explaining that Paul.
here is were it gets complicated the fan in the video module does not work but the member who is helping me tried my module on his highline sat nav and the fan did not work when hooked upto his either but his sat nav worked as normal. And like i said earlier on in the thread i saw the sat nav working before i bought it Last edited by cabbers; 2nd June 2012 at 22:26.. |
