Suzublu, thanks for that but im on an economy drive right now and the nearest Halfords is a 2 hour drive (as are most shops).

I'm with Bilt Hamber too, but they don't do anything with the kind of cut needed for scratches.

Well there are varying grades of 3M,from the extra fine one i use, up to a slightly harder compound for more stubborn scratches & swirls.

My efforts today are making me consider a machine even more. I'm currently thinking of this combo.
