Having looked on ebay Im a bit confused. Cheapest radio unit seems about £99. Do I also need amp? Is the BM24 fully compatible so I will get all screen functions, Satnav, CD Radio presets etc on hi line and HK speakers can handle extra power? I thought HK had separate amp. And is it a straight exchange and are connectors round or spade.
Thanks

This thread was about replacing the module in cars already fitted with the Highline system.
Are you looking to install the whole lot from scratch?
If so best to start a new thread in the ice section and peeps will guide you on what you need etc

To answer a few questions:

- Coolcat, I totally agree regarding RMS however I was unable to find the RMS figures for the MOSFETs I found in the amp units.
- The BM54 needs an adaptor lead, however does improve functionality. I wasn't too fussed, so have only ever bought the BM24 units.
- The speakers can be improved upon - if you're after better units Focal or Hertz make some excellent component speakers I know others have fitted.

Totally plug and play and would replace the boot mounted hiline radio tuner/amp in the boot.

Thread moved to the Factory Fit section of the ICE forum.

Remember as well as upgrading the hiline radio tuner with either the BM24 or BM54 it's possible to do similar with the video tuner, navigation computer and exchange the 4:3 bord monitor with the BMW 16:9 widescreen.

Not meant to be as good as a bm54 but a bm54 "back" will fit with no need for a modded wiring loom adapter!

Would the bm24 unit also make a difference if you have the hk set up. ?
