Trip Computer Option On High-line
Many people with early cars fitted with the High-line Sat Nav often ask how they can add the Trip Computer option to the main menu screen. The answer always given was that it needed a T4 session to enable this, but after talking to Phil T4 a couple of weeks ago I asked him how this was done. The answer was that it isn't a T4 programable item, it is down to the level of hardware and software loaded into the bordmonitor screen display.
So, I'd like to find out from high-line owners what level of HW & SW is present in their units to establish the switchover point when the Trip Computer data from the IPK started to be displayed on the menu screen. To find out what you have, do the following: From the main menu select 'Set' you'll see the following screen When you do, press and hold the MENU button on the head unit for 12 seconds This will then open the service menu screen below Select the first option 'On board monitor' and you'll be able to see the HW and SW levels To come out of this menu and return to the main menu screen, just press the Menu button again. The reading on all three of my cars is SW level 42, HW level 46, and Diag Index 11, Bus Index 09. They all have the Trip Computer option present on the menu screen. If you could post your findings including whether you have the Trip Computer option showing that would be great |

Well well we learn something new every day.
I must send you some screen shots of Aurora ZTT Paul. As it was a 2005 model it has some features I had not seen on the high line before

Yes please Jules, is it to do with extra text when on the radio screen? It could be that yours has the BM24 dual tuner which gives constant TMC and also lists the strongest radio stations within range on the screen? Sworks Trophy Yellow tourer has one fitted to his from the factory too.

If you still have the 16:9 BMW monitor could you see what levels it has and if it shows the Trip Computer option when connected up? |

Thanks Rob, so there seems to be a consistency of matching figures so far on later cars. I wonder how many permutations there were?

To be honest cant see it being hardware/firmware related as when I retro fitted mine it appeared the first time I powered it up, but then disappeared. Which says to me it got disabled as the car was not enabled for it.
