Default "No Discs" message.....

.....when the 6 disc magazine is fully loaded on my Harmony 6 disc changer.....tried everything i can with the mag......i have noticed the mag trays do not seem to be feeding when the player initializes each tray on loading....Im getting a click rather than the individual whirring of each tray....

any suggestions on sorting please...its driving me nuts........

Take the unit out open the top then you'll see a big cog move it a couple of times then should work again

Hello Troop, I think JamesUK had this problem as indeed did I; we both found one certain disc when put in individually does not register. *(had to do it singly to find which one), replaced said disc and it plays fine. Oddly enough that culprit disc plays fine in my home player. . Mike.

Scribbler is correct. We found that if one disk is iffy, then none of them work! So try each one separately untill you find the dodgy one.

It's a pain I know, but it's easier than taking the unit to bits, only to find the disks still wont play!

Mine sometimes reads no disks when they need a clean, just clean them, put them back and all's well.

The actual multi player unit is a bit unreliable really.. Needs to be molly coddled to keep it going..

Steve,

I've had this problem. The mechanism needs lubricating, that's all.

Simon.

Im going to take a look today....

Simon....what would you suggest i use to lubricate the mech?....I do a lot of river Fly fishing, and my reels tend to get dunked a lot (cos im up to my waist in water..and thats where i throw em when i lose a fish...just in case anyone was wondering...), so i use GT85 (like WD40, it repels water...unlike WD 40 it leaves a fine layer of oil behind as a lubricant.....apologises if you already know how to suck eggs...)....so would this be acceptable? or are we talking a fine grease etc....

WD40 should be ideal if carefully applied.

Did you connect it up with the cover off to see if there's any movement? You probably will not be able to move the cog wheels manually because of the gearing. Try lubricating, then connect it up again. Have a look to see if a disc has jammed somewhere.

Simon.
