I am sure that MG Rover would have fitted sports suspension to a facleift Connoisseur provided you also ordered 17" wheels as this was a option stating that 17" Star Spoke alloys must be included at a cost of £660.

Ah didn't know about that option.

Was the optional sports suspension the same as that of the ZT?

As far as I know. The springs and dampers were changed to the same as the ZT.

There would have been other differences between the ZT and the Contemporary with sports suspension, not just the suspension, and the interior.

Also, If you specified sports suspension on the Contemporary Tourer you could not have the other option of self leveling suspension, obvious really as the rear dampers had to be one or the other.
Still. MG Rover thought they had better put it in their brochures.

Might have been an idea to fit sports suspension as standard to the Contemporay, afterall it was aimed at the younger sportier 75 owner I believe.
