I think things might be going viral. Just found this link through Sky News Australia. Yes, I know, it’s still a mass news agency and subject to the usual cautionary approach but, Heigh Ho, another plank. Just ‘Skip Ads’.

Oh, should we just glance quickly at Mr Fergusons track record?

Like how to hedge your bets: From Guardian
Donnelly met Ferguson when they were both working for Prof Roy Anderson’s epidemiology group at Oxford University. Their first project together was modelling the BSE epidemic in cattle in 1996 and then the variant CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) outbreak in humans.

They came up with an estimate that was incredibly broad for the likely number of human deaths – between 50 and 50,000 – but that was at a time when some were predicting 2 million people would be infected. There were calls for the sort of NHS resources now going into Covid-19 to be directed towards vCJD. Ferguson and Donnelly’s modelling helped defuse that. In the end the UK had about 170 cases
.

Yes, "good" call, in the ball park. But imagine you had prepared for the worst. I think I would have been able to do better!

And, from Daily Telegraph, where the rest is behind a pay wall, this snippet:
However, it has now emerged that Ferguson has been criticised in the past for making predictions based on allegedly faulty assumptions which nevertheless shaped government strategies and impacted the UK economy....

Would I as a leader dare to put my future in his hands.
NO!
I would check this guy out from all sides, and definitely ask for a second opinion from some retired experienced and cantankerous old NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-, that would tell me the truth and not give a flying ...
That's what I would have done.

I believe he was also involved in a foot and mouth outbreak in the UK, but I have not looked that up. I have heard there are also grave concerns about his involvement there.

Always looking for the brighter side.

Our Ornamental Cherry is now in magnificent full blossom. Cue high winds to blow the petals to who knows where. Happens most years. Beautiful Spring Morning Weather here in Glorious Gloucestershire.

That's normally how Mother nature works.

These questions are some of the known unknowns. They will be unknown for some time yet. Possibly forever.

I just wish the media would "get it" and stop their known questions seeking those "Nobody Really Knows" thus unknown answers simply to try to catch out the poor devils with a near impossible task entrusted to our well being. Poor because they are and will be easy targets on a certain verbal kick up the proverbial no matter which way they bend over.

Trump being castigated Worldwide for "allegedly" redirecting PPE and Masks made by an American firm in the Far East to the USA instead of allegedly Germany. Reported as their original destination before COVID-19 hit the proverbial. Castigated for AMERICA FIRST stance and castigated more so if he did not do that. LOSE LOSE no matter which course of action he takes or not.

Same with those here in our Government. Castigated for doing or not doing the same things. Our media still chomping at the bit to castigate. They have such an easy job. Highly paid for it too.

News Junkie me started off on BBC earlier, soon tired of them and switched to SKY.. same outcome so dipped into RT ( FREEVIEW Channel 234 ) News Channel. They definitely have a "left field" odd-ball approach to some aspects of the News. After half and hour of that, now back on SKY 24/7 ..

Just seen a list of Starmer's chosen appointments. Could be a much more agreeable "shadow" of what went before. Time will tell.

My sister has lived in America for over 30 years, in New York State.
She has been an American citizen for over 10 years.
Sent this me this tweet from Hilary Clinton, which she fully endorses and agrees with.
Widespread agreement with this sentiment in America, currently.

“It took 70 days for Trump to treat the coronavirus not as a distant threat or harmless flu strain well under control, but as a lethal force poised to kill tens of thousands of citizens.”

Replace this man in November.

Trump, Trump and Trump!
I am not sure I would ever be able to vote for him..
I am, however, absolutely sure I could never have voted for Clinton.

For many reasons, but here is one:

I had a dream....

If only I were Top Banana .... King even. Things would be very different.

I'd vote for me. Plus my slogan would be..

UK FIRST!

Plus, plus ( two pluses for the price of one here ) Every Brit would have to drive an MG or Rover to support the good working people of the West Midlands.

Of course my dream could only ever be realised pre-APRIL 2005. Far too bluddy late now. Thanks to some.. no names no pack drill.

Exit MGJohn stage left... Correction. Stage right. Many moons ago since I was leftward leaning... Still proceeding despite huge mileage on my personal clock.

Stay safe. There's an MG in the fine old marque's slogan.

SAFETY Fast MotorinG.

I was just giving a viewpoint from my sister who works, lives and has raised her two sons in America over 30 years.
My Brother - who sadly passed away a few years ago - spent nearly 40 years in Dallas, Texas had a very similar point of view.
Just saying - other viewpoints are available!

On this - you and I are in total agreement - the abuse of Charity Rules to enabling HC to fund an extraordinary campaign was so blatant and arrogant that most Americans saw her as by far the least favourable option.

And I shall now mirror one of your previous posts and say how “pleased” I am that Political Posts are now allowed on this Forum........

Anybody wincing yet?

For every for, there are some against. Interaction on the social media has some content which surprises even some long in the tooth like me who thought they'd seen and heard it all. Here's one of our PM's keenest fans. These are the people we share our Planet with.

Good grief!
