Whilst contemplating th new storm Denis arrival. I decided to pay 1.17.9 a ltr at Tesco with th help of a 5p a ltr off voucher. I avnt used Tesco diesel for years as I don't rate it. I use Esso usually (not city diesel) and put recommended dose of red ex in. It runs as smooth as smooth thing and is quiet.. I was surprised that this time apart from a slight reduction in waft it sounds th same (which was nice)... I wondered if Tesco (city diesel) as improved.?

Not sure who Tesco buys their fuel from but over here the supermarket and independent fuel suppliers buy their fuel from the big refineries. Apparently it is the same fuel as the majors, just with a different additive package added.
My ZT runs well on the less expensive fuel but every now and then I buy name brand to give the car a hit of the additives.

Hi John. My son is a tanker driver and tells me that all the big companies load up at the same depots. The only difference is that according to where they are delivering to. They then, at the time of loading the fuel onto the tankers, additives if they are required are added to the fuel. Same fuel for everyone, just additives for some and not for others. I only use Asda fuel because it is cheap, around one mile from where I live, and never had any problems with using it.

Yes logistically it would be a nightmare to specifically make fuel in various mixes and store in different separate tanks. So I can see they make diesel in a big batch and then its up to individual suppliers to add additives to it... As Iv said I find Esso suits mine th best. I wish they were more open and honest about there additives so we as a consumer can make a decision on weather (back to storm Denis :-) we pay th extra for th better dearer diesel...!

Its raining hard here now. Shall I go and check th boot for water ingress. ??? Probably not.

I didn’t take the Connie and her 18 inch hairpins on a trip around the Lakes deciding that my fillings couldn’t take anymore after my trip around Scotland a couple of weeks ago. The tourer in her club se spec and 16 inch unions by comparison was like a comfy bed over the potholes ! Methinks I need to make a decision about wheels for my and the car’s sake !

Hmmm! I’m running them at 34 psi so I might drop them to 29 to see if it makes a difference. The ride is so harsh it feels like it could crack the windscreen!

I didnt chang the front disks because i broke my 16mm 6 sided socket and the multipoint one started to round off the nut.

And i didnt change the rear sticking caliper because the brake hose wouldn't unscrew so its soaking in wd40

And i didnt change the rear wheel bearing on the other side because i was cold wet and peed off
