Default nice run

Just returned from a week in Derbyshire. Done about 580 miles in total.
Brilliant run there and back, car went really well with a very full load, pleased as punch with the car.

Very happy and glad to hear about your 580 mile jaunt. Must have been wonderful for you. rock n roll lock and load
But a 1960s Anglia would have achieved the same.
So with the greatest of respect and interest what is your point Sir .?
I have my Own from new banged and scraped and daughters learner driver car MG Ztt ( she is my beauty( car) short of a 428 big block 67 mustang dreams dreams )which I drive occasionally covering 700 miles on a weekend. packed and loaded.
yes I drive my clinical 17 merc daily but its for that only, just getting from A to B
Not lock and load as Hollywood would make you believe, its the opposite any FAC holders will tell you .
I have in the past carried 200 bricks seats down.
Again Sir what is your POINT
I just love driving her now and again,,and she can still lift up her skirt and go.

I understand the pleased-ness of the op. On its first long trip, to Gosport and back, I was gratified by the relaxed and comfortable way my old CDT ate up the miles at speed, returning me and wife to Cumbria, still fresh, and ready for work next morning, despite that being, for me, another 100 mile round trip. A far cry indeed from the noisy, rock'n'rolly, cramped and uncomfortable tin box that was the Anglia. And I am still gratified every day, by its fuss free, plush, and enjoyable 50 mile drive to work. Long may it last!

I think the point that the OP is raising is that these old cars if ours can still do what they are meant to do and provide a very nice driving experience.
