I had one of these in the early seventies.
Had character then and many, many years later still has. It was a time when most of the cars on the road were much slower. 3.800 cc------Straight 6--------268 bhp.-----not too heavy either. Last edited by COLVERT; 31st December 2018 at 20:35.. |

You want character?
Well for me you can't beat a wood fire, Doom Bar on draught or possibly Tribute + a cheery buxom barmaid.

Had one of these too quite a while back now.
Was very nippy for its year and had a really nice exhaust note. |

The very first car I ever owned. It was born in 1937.---
It ran on 12 volts. It had 4 wheel independent suspension. Hydraulic brakes. Four cylinder water cooled engine.---500 cc's Non of the above on British pre-war cars.--- |

The 75 definitely has a unique character. The way the steering feels and how the car rides, it’s like nothing else. I had a Classic SAAB 900 Turbo that was another great car, unique handling and bags of grunt. I have a 1996 Volvo 850 T5 estate at the moment, the last of the proper Volvos where budget wasn’t the main consideration. The sound of the 2.3 litre 5 cylinder turbo engine makes me smile every time I drive it.
I choose to drive an 18 year old car because I like it better than anything newer. That’s a statement of the character of the car as far as I’m concerned.
