Thinking of bombing my car
No not that type of bomb but a smoke bomb😜.just want to test for vac leaks really, and thought of holding a smoke bomb under the air filter and a few gentle revs.will smoke emit from any leaking boost hoses etc if I have a leak.

A vacuum leak causes air to be sucked in, so I'm not clear how any smoke will come out. If smoke does enter the air inlet to the air filter, it definitely won't appear from a leak in an attached vacuum hose. The inlet air flow from any leak is inwards towards the inlet manifold. Am I misunderstanding your plan?

Unless there's a gaping hole I think you'd need to somehow pressurise the system, not idea how you'd manage that

Easy start is good, the revs rise if its sucked in through a gap.
