Default wind screen change

Gentlemen, a few days ago I had a stone on my front wind screen and it is broken. Now, my question is: I have a spare Rover 75 with a screen in mint condition, have any of you managed to get a front screen off the car without damaging it? And how do I "unglue" this screen? Any ideas? regards, Chris Varming

I have not removed the front screen but I have the rear. This kit was used to break the glue

I think the front screen is more prone to cracking then the rear when being removed but can be done.

is this thread any good

I had my screen replaced with one of the windscreen boys (insurance job) They have the tools and know-how. A couple of hours and the job is done.

Seeing the palaver taking out the old and fitting the new, I wouldn't attempt it.

Had a few out now, not too difficult but I've made my own tools for doing it. Fitting is quite straightforward once everything's prepared

Thanks for your reply - I know it will be a difficult job to get the intact screen out of the spare Rover, but it will be too expensive to order one from GB, as there are no stock here in DK. -
rrobson:Have you any photos of your homemade tools? regards, cv

There's bound to be a local windscreen fitter who can do the job for you.

Hi Doc,

Made enquires two years back locally in Bomhus and at that time there wasn’t a problem obtaining one in Sweden, even found one on Blocket for 1500kr.

Time perhaps to re-visit Sweden.

Regards

One thing I never mess with on a car, just not worth the Agro.fitter charged me £60 to remove one and refit another, even though the it was dropping out in the beginning🙄
