Default towing a ZT with a 75

Hi all,

As some of you may have seen the CV joint failed on my ZT recently. I need to tow the car to my local mechanic about 10 mins down the road. Can my dad's 75 tow the zt using a solid tow bar hooked onto that large tow hoop/ring on the back of the 75 under the centre of the rear bumper using one of these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tow-Bar-Po...UAAOSwud1XAX0n

cheers,

The rear towing eye is for recovery, not for towing a car - i.e. I wouldn't want to use it to tow another car, but I would tow a car by the towing eye if I had a towbar.

Its not a towing eye, only there to lash the car down whilst on a transporter
towing a heavy 75/zt with it could result in it being ripped out of the boot floor

You could probably get a local transporter to do it for you, save the grief maybe under £20..

I am surprised that nobody locally from this sitewill come over and do the repair for you at home, hardly a dramatic repair to undertake.

No worries, didn't think it looked strong enough to tow on it, just think it's a bit odd our cars don't have a tow eye at the rear when so many others do.

I'm getting Kevin at MG Rover Repair in Wickford to sort it for me. He's looked after our cars for some time now. Getting a few other jobs done at the same time
