Tourer headlining sagging
I noticed today (don't tend to look at the roof!) that the headlining in the back of my tourer is sagging,
I guess one way forward would be to remove it and peel the fabric off then glue it back on ... Or try to - looks a nightmare to remove, anyone able to confirm how easy or not moving the headlining is? I see rimmers list replacements, but only for the 2002 onwards cars, does anyone know if they fit the earlier tourers or not? That would make a better and longer term repair but I don't want to be wasting £300 if it won't fit (my car is a 2001) |

Best bet is to replace with one from a scrap car.

Ive done about 4 sedan headlinings but think
If it's a tourer getting the headlining out would be easy with the rear door. Once out pull the old cloth off and clean off all the old glue right back to the head board, needs to be totally clean so glue will stick to it.use a good heat resistant glue. |

Go and buy a glass of stainless pin needles.
Hold up lining with finger, insert needle sideways into backing board. Press needle home. Repeat in different places. (chosen symmetrically, if OCD). Lie back and admire result. So much easier in the tourer as it lends itself to a little nap after completed work. Problem solved.

Major problem should be finding a correct colour to match the original fabric. Don't try to glue the old fabric, You will waist your time and will look horrible. I replaced the headlining on my car in Italy taking one off from a donor car i purchased in UK (yes i purchased a whole car to get the headlining and door cards mainly...).
It's an 1/2 our job to take off the headlining from the car. If You find a correct colour match fabric (i didn't found it in Italy) I suggest You to replace the fabric on your headlining (You will have for sure a 10 years of service from it). If you take a used one make sure You have the same fabric colour, the same electric "gigs", otherwise (like me) You will have to swap the electric loom glued on the headlining. The headlining itself gets out easy from the boot with the 4 seats reclined. Hope this helps, Canio

My headlining also sagging
Yes the headlining in mine is coming down quite badly - the kids have started to moan from the back. All I know is there is no way that gluing it back will work. We used some staples where someone else suggested pins, which works, but only EXACTLY where the pin / staple is. Taking the lining out is quite easy as the glue has lost much of its stick anyway.
Working out whether to replace the lining or just clean up the board and perhaps paint it. |

Go to scrappy and get a replacement, half hour max to get one out of a tourer.
