Air Con Help
Just got me a Conny SE.
When I press the AUTO button to turn the aircon on the blower goes on full blast and the temp goes to 16 on both sides. Pressing the AUTO again does nothing. I have to turn the temp to LOW on both sides and drop the blower speed to 2 or 3 bar to get back to normal. What do you think this is? Aircon fault? Regassing needed? or what?

Is it set to demist? That puts on the blower full speed, If it is press the distribution button change the settings.

No.
The settings are three digets on the fan, no demist, air blowing in your face. When I press AUTO the blower goes on full blast and the temp goes to 16 on both sides I did read a member had the same symptoms. What do members think it is?

Just been mooching about the site to see what's been put up about air con.
A note from Simon (SD1too) said that if I started the engine from cold then put the demister on and go to the front of the car, the fan should be running. If the fan is running then the air con just need re-gassing. Can anyone confirm this? You see I've started the car and did what was suggested. The fan is running. What I don't want to do is to get the car re-gassed only to find something else is wrong. Any help will be gratefully received.

As ON is to OFF, so AUTO is to ECON. So instead of pressing AUTO again, try pressing ECON. TC |

I don't know what it is. Non-one else has had this problem as far as i know.
You could try running the built-in air con./heater diagnostics. Failing that, T4 might help. Simon

I may be missing something but if you press Auto for air con I don't think you press it again and expect something to happen. As T-Cut says, and it's what I do, press Econ to turn it off. Isn't this how it works?

You can get working Climate Control boxes from eBay for a tenner upwards. Ten minutes to swap and you'll know.
