I've just fitted a set of chrome plastic caps that look similar to GG's and they look great. They fit very securely and like GG's they are supplied with a removal tool.
These ones were from ebay at £14.99 + £2.50 pp from covertwiseguy, item no.- 230032435439 17mm fitment.
They definitely look a lot better than rusty bolts.

Regards,

Dave

Knew Dave that there were much cheaper caps on ebay AFTER I bought mine at £30 odd so your info is very useful to other members. Have you got any of his other contact details ?
Actually I spent hours looking for chrome bolts or caps and knew the price was stupid for what they are but could not find any other solution.
Years ago I bought the same sort of caps at my local motor factors for something like £5. They lasted well & were still on my BMW when I sold it.
The motor factor wanted to stock caps again but could not find a source.

There weren't any more contact details supplied I'm afraid, he just sent a brief packing slip!

Dave

is the 17mm wheelnut fitment common across all the 75s? (I'm sure it is, but I'm just being careful before I order some... )

That is correct, they are all the same.

I have found the supplier of the ones I bought and I believe Crofts did as well.
Mine were £29.95 for 20.
I can't see them being much different from the £15.00 ones, uses same removal tool.
They don't seem to sell them any longer, wonder why.

Plated wheel bolts

Check out 110058341953 and 110036723698 on that 'marvellous' place that lists all the rare things that you didn't know you needed !

Don't know if I would use them, wheel bolts are sort of a bit crucial, its not like a cup holder breaking !

If anybody does jump in let us all know how you made out

I think those are probably the following:- (no they're not he quotes item #260051941498)
Described as alloy wheel bolts with bright zinc finish (looks just like chrome in picture) and has lockers at £17 a set which he says match the bolts fairly well. Only size he has are 17mm which is correct for our cars. The bolts are £1.20 each (any qty.) which is a very fair price for plated bolts and without the problem of chrome. For Rover alloys thread length is 25mm but he may have other lengths if you have aftermarket alloys, just ask
Contact Russ at :- RALLYESPORTLNDON @aol.com (capitals as shown)

For all plated bolts I am trying to arrange a club deal for the supply of a 17mm nylon lined socket with a clever socket extension that limits torque to 90ft lbs.
Will have more details after sample supplied later in December (when you're all broke after Christmas
