I'm a dab hand at adjusting the handbrake through the bolt hole, I'll be there to lend a hand

I'm familiar with the rest of the Compensator fitting, shame Harry M1BYT can't be available, but he might be open to persuasion. The guy is an absolute dab hand fitting these.

Many thanks Is it Harry's compensator (sounds wrong) that I need?

I have a nail gun

I have partially dropped the roof lining once using this howto to fit a bluetooth, not sure I would have the confidence to tackle a full one though.

(The other job I need to do sometime is the handbrake compensator, but probably not a good idea to try to do both in one day, so I'll leave that for another time.)
The loose connection has now been traced and corrected while changing the oil filter, so I no longer need to take the front end off (huge relief!).

The (MG Rover trained) mechanic also managed to improve the handbrake so that it now holds on 4 clicks, so the compensator can wait a while as well.

That means that, for once, there are no jobs to do on my car, but I will still try to come down on the Saturday if I can. Let's just hope the weather is kind!
