More garage mopping duties for me again with this persistent rain

Good afternoon all! All is well in the countryside Bob! How's the yellows? I see one has got 226,000 miles now! A credit to you!

Hi Phil, I'm listening to music with Lord Boots. He wasn't keen on being outside with all the rain earlier! Hope all is well with you and Jessica!

Hi Ian, all is well. Seems to be brightening up, so probably do some Frisbee® with friends later! ☀️

Hi Andy, I've been running my Audio Innovations Series 500 for just over two years. Mine is the earlier one with three Output Taps (16,8 and 4 ohms) and I've three Mullard ECC83 from Blackburn and two Gold Pin Mullard E88CC phase splitter Valves from Mitcham . Four Russian NOS Power Valves give 17WPC.

The sources are a Thorens TD 150 custom built for me, a Rotel RCD 06 CDP which is a Transport only as I've got an Audiolab M-DAC+ which is a significant upgrade!

The loudspeakers are venerable Tannoy Monitor Gold 3LZ Loudspeakers built in West Norwood in 1973.

This journey with Hi Fi started back in 2005 and I'm well pleased with the sound I have now. Even professional musicians have used it to test early pressings!

Anyway, I'm probably going on a bit too much!

Steve, I completely get what you mean about the different tones of Valve vs Solid State.

Valves (to my ears) are more involving. And nothing beats listening on a winters evening by candlelight and a glass of Single Malt...

Thanks.

Nope, you're not going on too much.

Always interesting to hear (no pun intended) about other folks set ups.

I wonder if valves are a bit like steam trains? They lead you gently by the hand to an involvement in something that goes way beyond the simple function of listening to music or going somewhere by rail.

Enjoy.

It’s not boring at all Stu and it brings you enormous pleasure, I imagine it’s calming for Lord Boots to see you looking satisfied with the valves

I am in the doghouse tonight, as I had left the lights on in the car when I was checking its electrics and now the car battery is flat. What a silly so and so I am. Hopefully I will be able to get a jump start tomorrow.

Cool

Just back from a excellent late lunch at the Green Dragon in Barnet. I had rib of beef and simply melted in the mouth. Michael had confit of duck leg and the meat just fell off the bone. Bloomin’ ansum’

Evening all, knocked up a curry for tea, a couple of lagers now, pity I couldn’t taste it.

Cool

Morning everyone.

We have sunshine, at the moment.

Special day today as I’m off to see my lovely god daughter Kirra in Earls Colne. Been 2 years since I last saw her.
