CDT Gold Resistors?
For a few years we've used the term 'gold resistor' to describe the desirable higher performance resistor for the CDT fan.
Members need to exercise caution as these days there are a lot of very poor gold anodised resistors available on certain auction sites. The durable resistor is a 0.47ohm (R47) 100W resistor such as the Arcol HS100 here https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/panel...stors/0188065/ The photograph below shows from left to right the MGR OEM resistor, the Arcol 100W resistor and the claimed 100W .47ohm resistor from the aforementioned site. Personally, I doubt the last one would dissipate more than 25W for any period of time before expiring. It is about half the weight of the MGR resistor. Recommendation: if you wish to improve on the OEM resistor, buy one from a known forum trader or get the Arcol providing you have the facility to solder it yourself to thick wires. https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/i...ient_panel.gif Last edited by MSS; 29th September 2021 at 09:04.. |

I see that RS - the UK distributor of ARCOL resistors - are not expecting any supply of this particular resistor until July 2022!
Queues and fights outside trikey's next? Andy - better not feed Meg too well over the next few days in case of intruders! |
