Sadly our dog is no longer with us, but my trolley jack and booster block is still going strong i tend to use four ramps nowa days, but you still need to raise the rear up to get the ramps under the wheels.

Ideally if wanting to work under the car with the wheels on, Artic's pictorial using 2 sets of ramps is a safe way to proceed

I have cut some blocks of wood to fit into the U of the axle stands. Like you I'd not have the body or chassis in contact with the tops of the U.
