Thumbs up Wired after thoughts

Hope I do not have the problems with the bonnet grips / cables again BUT to ease the task of forcing fingers up to grab the cables splitter box in the future I have wrapped garden wire round each cable right against the box and then pushed the wires down beside the water bottle. I can now pull the wires to grab the box rather than tear fingers!
Other things done :-
• Ensured the slider block in the box is turned over and a spacer ( not tightly) placed between slider block and wing – all well greased. Cable ends cannot come out of slider by accident.
• Cable tie looped around box to ensure it does not , somehow , pop off the wing mount ( think this did happen in my recent problem.)

I have done this too, on most of the fleet. But word of warning….on one of the cars I must have left the string too long, or not secured out of the way properly. One evening the string got tangled around the driveshaft and pulled the whole shebang out!😳😳

I did something the same but with cable ties, got the tip form crew member Scott

The cable tie is then routed down behind the inspection shield in the wheel arch so one you remove it you can pull on the cable ties.
