I doubt it, your problem is the immobiliser, the immobiliser chip in that key won't work in your car, it cannot be reprogrammed.

The bar code is needed for programming the remote locking/alarm system.

They are two entirely different functions of the key.

Thanks for all the help raykay, looks like I will have to wait for the replacement key to arrive from Germany (7-10 days without the car), to see what the next sept will be, I still have my doubts about it being the key immobilizer that has gone faulty, but who knows.

Hip Hip oh ray

Just had a phone call from the garage, the car is running again :lol: :lol: :lol:. what with the FBH from Keith working as well, I am now like a pig in (well you know what) its turning out to be my week.

I do not know the final cost of the new key and battery key ECT yet , but I will post the total cost once I pick up the car from the garage in the morning.

I only had one key when I brought the car and it was the key that turned out to be the problem. Do you have a second key you could try?

I think Charles has two keys Tony, but I know a man who can help if he's really stuck
