I does seem inconceivable, however read the thread and ask the member. He had to replace them with standard rubber bearings.

Default Front Arm Rear Bush

Gents

I'm getting movement of the nearside wheel when holding it at 3 and 9 o'clock, and a slight knock in the steering when moving the steering wheel (heard when stationary). Is this a symptom of Rear Bush failure ?

The reference I found 'PFLEX-PFF63-602' for MGZT all models inc. diesel. Is the Powerflex website the place to buy these bushes ?

regards

I remember that thread. Was there ever an explanation?
My powerflex bushes have been on for a little over a year (around 18K)
and no problems at all.

Nice how to.

Am I right in thinking that there is a fundamental difference between original and powerflex types in that the blue sleeve of the powerflex bush can rotate freely inside the outer bush , whereas the OE type is keyed fast to the arm and has to flex/distort as the arm rotates ? You would therefore expect the powerflex to be relatively unstressed and last much longer

But seeing as it can rotate in the outer bush, will both the bushes not wear down until it flops around just like a worn oem bush?

You would assume it will , but at what rate compared to the OE ? How long will it last ? The OE types tend to break up rather than wear . Can anyone who has fitted them confirm they can move freely , or do they grip and twist

Just watched the powerflex video here http://www.powerflex.co.uk/road-seri...Bush/2074.html . THis shows the mounting housing pushes on easily and rotates freely
