Default No longer required Tourer rear lights

2004. Mine have been bonded in by a previous owner.
If anyone also has advice on how to remove bonded in lights, I’m all ears!

Are you sure they are bonded in? there are two screws under the tailgate and then two ball and cup fixings. A good tug once the screws are removed should do the trick.

Unfortunately mate they are. I looked at a bit of history which reported (but didn’t fix) both rear light mountings broken. Either that’s the reason or maybe the fact that there’s wet in the spare wheel well (you buy cheap, you get cheap!)
If I am going to force it, I’m going to need a lamp to go back on in any case. Fortunately the brake light acts as a secondary tail light when the bulb goes (genius idea by the way) so I’m not pushed for time as yet.

On the tourer the light unit doesn't protrude into the cargo area so no leaks occur. Are your lamps plain or smoked?

Plain I think, I have a pic but having trouble attaching to this thread. I could always email? Do you have one?
I see what you mean regarding the leak, I think maybe they’ve been bonded in as the brackets (or whatever fixings they have) were broken. The previous owner probably just did it as a temp fix knowing the car was going anyway.

If you have a pair of either plain or smoked I’d be interested in any case as the near side will need doing at some point too.
