Dead 190
Just left work, on way to the doctors for an appointment and my ZT-T died, as I came into Finchingfield the engine cut out, IPK displaying traction control warning, managed to roll out of the way of traffic before it ran out of momentum. Engine cranks fine, but won’t fire up. Called recovery and awaiting them turning up. Anyone have any ideas - I don’t understand how a traction control issue would affect running. Thanks in advance, Paul.

From earlier posts: check the rev needle for movement when cranking, no movement = dead sensor.

My v6 rev counter doesn't move whilst cranking, but the car starts. Should it be moving?!

Crank sensor.
Thanks for all the replies, at the time thought it must be expensive electrical failure as I couldn't see how the traction control warning would stop the engine running. Can anyone recommend where i can get a good quality replacement sensor?

Update.
I still have a dead 190! Checked for power at fuel pump when cranking - none, Rev counter resolutely stays at zero during cranking and diagnostics indicate 'no crankshaft signal'. Two new crank sensors and a good known working one later, still no crank signal and now the traction control light comes up as a smaller icon on the IPK as soon as the ignition is switched on (previously only came on as a large icon after 3 - 5 seconds cranking). Car is loaded on trailer ready to go off for T4 attention, will advise when I know the root of the problem (hope it's wiring and not ECM problem - only just had full cam belt replacement, so guessing the wiring loom would need to be moved about for access ).

Hmm, could be the 'missing' earth at the rear bank issue then.. This can fry the ecu in no time if the earth is not attached.
