No disc message.
Driving home last night the cd I was listening to finished, the multi changer whirred like it was changing but kept going till it had been through the whole magazine then told me "!NO DISC". I have checked it this morning and the same is happening. Has anybody any ideas on what might be causing this, and possible cures?
Malc

Is it a glovebox or boot mounted cd changer?

Its the glovebox mounted unit coupled to the cheapest of the Rover head units, the Harmony not sure on the make of the changer as i cannot see any manufactures mark on it.

My boot mounted one did this a few weeks ago. I took out each cartridge and gave all the disks a clean and it's been fine since. If only everything was that simple.

That was the first thing I tried too, but no joy for me. Its like its not recognizing the fact there is a disc in the trays let alone seeing if there is anything on them.

Mine does this at times, I just take the cartridge out swap a couple of disc's over and put it back in a few times till it starts working again..

It's a common phenomenon. Careful lubrication of the disc changing mechanism should restore normal service, but the fault might recur. It's happened to me twice. Simon.
