Thanks for the welcome. I recently become the owner of my late father's Rover 75 2.0 CDTi Tourer. He was an MG Rover dealer and bought the car new when he retired from the business, so it's a genuine original car from new. I believe it's the 135ps engine as he always said he had most of the options put on the car.
I'm hoping to bring it back to showroom condition and then keep it as a modern classic. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...mg&imgid=29421 |

Welcome Jeff!
Just a shot in the dark but did your father use the car to pick up the grand daughter from Gillingham High? It might not be the car I am thinking of but, anyway, it looks a beauty. Best colour too!

That would be the one, DorsetBob
It's a super car with complete history and it's going to be well looked after. I've owned a 75 saloon (a 1.8T) and ZT-T (2.5 V6) in the past so know the cars quite well. The 75 saloon was Copper Leaf and that's when Dad decided he'd like the same colour for his own car (along with all the chrome trimmings of door escutcheons and mirror covers). Are you local to Gillingham? |

Yes, I am local, my son used to go to Gillingham High.
Your father and I would often park up together in the Lidl carpark and chat whilst we were waiting for the kids. I have a Copperleaf 2.5V6. We must have spent hours chatting over the years. I am sorry to learn of the passing of him, he was a good man. The car is a fantastic one. It is a 135ps and your father told me that he had every dealer extra on it, bar the satnav, as he didn't feel he had a use for it. Not many are about like this example! I thought that I recognised the car when I spotted the Serpent alloys and chrome door finishers. To be honest, the car was such a fine example that I worried what the fate of it would be. I am so pleased that it has ended up in good hands!
