Power steering leak
I have checked through previous posts on the Power Steering pump leaks.
I have found a gasket set being supplied by someone on Ebay from Spain. Trouble is that it takes a while to get it posted here. Any suppliers in UK ? Failing that, people have talked about making a cardboard gasket and fitting a new seal. Can anyone help out with dimensions for the seal as I have a box of metric seals and hope one might fit. Also a How To for a CDTI to remove the pump from the car ? Thanks Gary |

Gary,
Have the same leaking steering pump and could not find details for any replacement washers or gasket (I think/hope mine is leaking at the pipe connections). See what anyone else replies with interest. Scott |

Mine’s a MK1. Seems to have a leak around where the pipes connect. One of the many of the ‘things to do’. Straight forward washer replacement?

On my v6 model , it was a simple O ring where the rubber pipe connected to the pump . Would be worth cleaning up the pump and then observing where the leak reappears ?

Turned out to be the low pressure return pipe had rubbed through on the air con pulley. Quick repair section made up and fitted.
