Default Rear Drop Links Seized Bolts & Nuts

Trying to change one of my rear drop links before the MOT but the bolt & nuts are seized. Got the bottom nut half way undone but can get no further. I can get a socket on the nut no problem but there isn't a decent flat on the drop link to get a spanner to hold. Not a major problem as I think access is good enough to get in there with an angle grinder and cut it off.

However the top bolt & nut are seized solid and won't budge and access is tight. I could probably get a junior hacksaw in there but not sure if it would be able to cut the bolt if it's high tensile can anyone advise before I start?

Hi Richard.
Have you tried two sockets one either side, it is possible same for the anti roll bar joint use a good impact socket

Hi Steve, sorry I just have a basic socket I'm afraid and the top won't budge using that. I've undone the bottom nut enough to get an angle grinder in there, but do you think I would be able to cut the nut off the top bolt with a hacksaw? Thanks

You maybe able to cut through it, but do you have new bolts once you have ? squirt some plus gas round the area and let it soak and give it another try.

I had this the other week when the O/S rear upper arm had to be replaced for MOT. Hacksaw with a decent blade should do it, if you have the time and stamina. Otherwise you need a mate with an angle grinder. Bolts are about £4 a throw.
