Default Rear Springs ??

I have noticed many times that the rear of saloon cars look a lot higher than the Tourer version.
I would have thought that by virtue of the tourer being a "Load lugger"It would of had stiffer springs and therefore when unloaded would stand higher than it does.

So why does the saloon look higher than a tourer ??? any one?

I’d say it depends what era of car you are looking at.
Originally, at a guess, they all probably looked ok, level at front and back.
At this stage, most will have now gone through 1 or 2 spring changes, at either front, or back..... or both.
Couple that combination with the complication of spring choice & it’s not difficult to see why it could all start to look odd.
In fact, I’ve 2 saloons, which I’ve changed both front and rear springs on both. Both look totally different heights at the rear, where I’ve used same springs. 🤔
They also look different at the front, which is fair enough, as I wanted to try different springs for comparison.
The tourer on the other hand, although level, appears to sit high st the front due to the wheel arch gap.🙄

I always thought the Tourer had a lower Rear Arch line than the Saloon by design
