I think it is as we get older, our 'heroes' do too, but we do not think of them getting older, as our mind stays with how we remember them. So when they die, it comes as a shock to us. Then as they get older, of course they get closer to clocking out..... obviously lol.

It will be the same for every generation too I bet.
