I sure am going to miss those aristocrats of the skies. They carried, over the years, half of the population of the world.

Bit of a gamble I would have thought getting rid of the 747.

That's more pilots , cabin crew and ground crew looking for work I suspect.
Cabin crew can change easily, not sure about pilots and ground crew.

Despite numerous updates the 747 was getting a bit long in the tooth, newer, more efficient aircraft around. Still strange to see it go though.
