Injector Puller

Took the plunge to do it myself.

Okay got so far, tried loosening the nuts of a little bit, turned her over still tight cant move them.

Looks like will have to buy one, needs to be reasonably cheap probably will never use it again, any recommendations.

In my professional experience this will probably help you
A basic guide below.

Easiest way to remove injectors without a puller is as follows
Start the engine and get it up to temp, once it’s up to temperature switch off allowed to cool down for five minutes or so and then spray plus gas around the injectors, leave to soak for 10 to 15 minutes then quickly dismantle everything, put a flat edge on the top of the Rocker cover a nice solid ruler shaped flat edge and then use a large flat headed screwdriver to gently prize them out after undoing the nuts either side of the injector.

I’ve removed hundreds this way, and it’s only very rare that you need a polo I do have a set of colours but don’t often use them

I tried everything to get my #2 injector out, it had a leak causing the engine to give out white smoke at idle, so I purchased myself an injector removal kit which wasn't the cheapest. Having spent several days trying to remove the injector by levering, turning, prying etc. My kit arrived. Injector was out within about ten minutes. I extracted the copper sealing washer and having looked down the bore in the head, decided the seat could do with a bit of a recut to tidy it up. The cutter didn't feel quite right when I turned it in the bore so I removed it. Imagine my surprise when I found another copper washer stuck to the end of the cutter, little wonder it was leaking. I then recut the seat fitted a new copper washer, rebuilt everything and she now runs sweet. Trikey has since done me a 160bhp upgrade and health check which has revealed I have one injector that I will run cleaner through and if it is still a bit ropey it will be replaced and this time I will photograph the removal process and post it on here.

just my daft suggestion soak them overnight in coca cola it will work trust me .

Hi Andi one suggested vinegar so that is what I have used.

Personally ii would rebuild the top part of the engine, get it hot a follow what Andy says it will be much easier than trying to pry out a cold injector, the last couple I removed cold required a slide hammer.

Also before tackling the injector removal clean round the injector with an hoover as you do not want debris falling into the injector hole blocking it

Well after not being able to move the injectors yesterday, soaked them overnight with vinegar, this morning thought I would try them again and one by one they eased up a little with a screwdriver, blow me down they came out by hand with a little side to side wiggle.

All back in now with the new ones and took her out for a run and she performed really well.
Everything went back and was gob smacked I didn't have any nuts or bolts left over.
If it was the injectors as Marina has said causing smoke after being left over night I will know for sure in the morning.

Almost forgot also fitted a set of brass leak off connectors.

I reckon you will have cracked it though, I suspect in the long term, the breakout tuning box gadget we removed at Walworth had damaged the original injectors.

Hopefully this will have sorted it for you though Julien
