Default poo, a blessed leak on my Saloon

Found water in the boot. I don't think the light seal as I changed these a few years ago. Don't think from the silver trim on the side. I don't think it is from the rear screen.

Indications which I struggle to believe, is that rain water has come through the air vent hidden behind the bumper.

Kitchen towel placed in expected places so I'll wait to see which bit gets wet, if non and the boot still gets wet then this will support the vent as being the issue.

I need time, space and no rain for now so I can do other jobs

I have noticed small amounts of water in the same area of my tourer, beneath that vent. havent really had time to investigate further!

On my Tourer I've had a number of leaks. Around the vent it did seem to be coming in at the sides. Removing it and putting some silicon on it and putting it back has cured it. I wish I could cure the others

On a saloon they can leak through the rear light clusters where the foam gaskets are knackered, or I’ve seen them leak at the boot hinges, where the bolts just need a slight nick to tighten them back up, I’ve also seen them leak at the clips that hold the rear screen surround in, and on tourer I’ve also found them leak along the chrome waist trim on the inside where they clip in and have plastic nuts that hold them in place.

This stuff works brilliantly on a lot of the small leaks, I’ve used it more times than I can remember on customers 75 & ZT’s and on my own too

Thumbs up

Mine used to leak around the said vent, didn't remove vents just sealed round the edges.
Been ok for the last eight years or so!
