Here is Tilly just four years old. I had to take her to the vets as she was nipping the hair from her back and underneath. She is a lot better now though. Tilly is now 4 years old

Default Happy Anniversary Merley .

Almost a year to the Day .. Since we took Merlin to the Vets thinking we were going to lose him ..

But today back from His Monthly Checkup, poking and prodding and an Injection.

Merleys put on a Kilo since his lowest weight , meds are helping his Eyes ..

And Vet very pleased with him.

He gets a bit stressed in the car , so did a awful stinky poop on the way and on the way back !!

But Well done Merley !!

My cavalier is the same in this heat and is not herself. She better hang on in there as I have just invested approx £3k into her recently!

Just thought that I'd join in..............
I have had rescues all my life and currently have Billy, a collie/springer cross and Rosie, a border/sheltie cross (we think).
Billy was the most terrified dog that I have ever met. It took 4 years of training classes and socialisation to get him straight. He is now the most loving dog that you could ever meet and is my number one best friend. When I first got him, someone suggested to me that I let him up on the bed for a 'couple of nights' - I've never allowed dogs on my bed, but he took to it and now considers it his territory.

Rosie took to Billy and me immediately (I had introduced Billy to several other dogs prior to this, but most were met with indifference)
Rosie, however, came charging across and said 'take me home'
If you are a dog lover, you will know!
I now have two fabulous dogs and Rosie has turned out to be brilliant at agility
Keep up the good work!
Geoff

Pleased to report that our young 'uns, although now old 'uns, are still going strong (fingers crossed!). Charlie is 11 now and Maddy is 10, and despite Charlie being a little bit arthritic, which doesn't slow her down much, they are still very active

When this thread began, I was still happily working as a manager in the NHS, which then became unhappily, and Gill was happy then unhappy working at the local council. About 5 years ago I was made redundant, and whilst walking our dogs, met a lady who boards dogs and does daycare. The idea seemed great to us, and I dipped my toes into the water. Soon we became quite busy, and then Gill packed in her job, and since then, we have become very busy! We now have a client list with 159 dogs on, of which 85 are regulars!

Looking at your latest post made me chuckle as last week we had a Springer that looked exactly like your Oscar, who is called Bertie! And currently we are boarding a greyhound that looks exactly like your Bertie, called Linford! What's the chances? (BTW, we have two Berties and two Oscars on the books!)
Hi Dave, nice to hear from you. Sorry for the late reply!
Your new line of work I find very appealing! I'd love to do something similar.

Oscar is getting arthritic now, which is sad to see. But, I'm told Springers are a "high impact" breed, which I guess is pretty obvious. His brain is still the same, still a puppy but his bones and joints can't keep up.

I've had a lot of trouble with Bertie recently. He is scheduled to have his second dental in a year next week. That will be his fourth. He's only eight and I've had him for six years. - I do brush his teeth! - The vet tells me it's not unusual for Greyhounds to have bad teeth. Especially if they have been bred for racing.
He has now got kidney disease, but I'm told only the early stages. I've adjusted his diet and he seems happy. Blood tests next week will tell me if things are stable.

Oscar and Bertie are inseparable, which is really adorable!

They become much part of the family especially if they have grown up with children,
