Technical term is buffer locked. Only way it can be freed is by a breakdown crew coming out and actually removing the buffers, usually from the wagon. Pick up a report form and write it up in the messroom.

Snowing again, quite heavily, around 6" - 7" deep now! Clearing the path earlier was a bit pointless, another 2" + has fallen since I did it.

LOL Begger! I thought I'd ridden over the buffer or something, I tried to pull forward to attempt another coupling but it was stuck fast.

You have, one set of buffers have ridden over the other, the "bell" of the buffers have passed each other and are locked together.

Car parking in Edinburgh is so eyewatering I stopped taking the car into town years ago. City centre is now just shy of a fiver an hour! Compare that to an unlimited day ticket on the bus for £4.50.

Are but we're talking Weymouth council here The council that welcomes it's visitors every year by increasing car parking charges in the holiday season..

Winter - Mon-Sun 08:00 - 18:00
1 Hour £0.50

Summer - Mon-Sun 08:00 - 18:00
1 Hour £1.00

A day on the beach with the kids that will be £8 please sir

Clip from local newspaper November 2019
" Weymouth and Portland Borough Council clocked up £2m in profit from parking charges last year "

All praise to the many local councils that offer free parking.. but I bet there ain't many seaside/tourist towns among them..

Blimey I thought Bolton was dear, average £1.60/hour, I'm the same I don't even entertain taking the car into town, The new bus station is right smack in the middle of the town & less walking from there to the main shops than the car parks, plus it costs nowt with the free bus pass

Morning all, Frosty & icy under foot out there. Don't tell Rod but I left the heating on all night I switched it off when we went to bed but never checked the display, The battery had gone in it
I wondered why I woke up sweating I'll be sweating all day thinking how much it's cost
