Default What should a T4 check cost?

Just asked my local ex rover garage what it would cost to have my airbag warning light checked on the computer and it's £50+VAT

I didn't expect it to be that much so just wondered what it costs elsewhere

There are few members on her that have the T4 system...

Might be worth checking out the events and meets section to see if one is at a meet near you Maybe the next Midlands Nano Meet

If its your airbag light though, My first check would be the plug under the front seats The Airbag light should self clear I think

Default T4

Why don't you contact one of the T4 members on here, will be cheaper.

Have you checked the connectors under the seats, to see if they have come loose, , might be worth unplugging them spraying them with a bit of WD40, and then put them back together

Stu

PS, Pete you beat me to it

Before going for the T4 have you tried checking the connections under the seats?

That is the usual cause of the problem and the light will then stay out without having a T4 session.

Hi.
Definitely check the wiring under both seats, no matter how silly it seems, the slightest disturbance to either connection can cause the warning lights to come on. Disconnect and re connect, It's a very common niggle with the car.

Thanks for the quick reply's.

I've just been out and disconnected the yellows plugs and sprayed them with contact cleaner then connected and disconnected them both a few times and the light is still on, the blue plugs have gone and been replaced with terminal blocks so it's not them.

Petetourer, I've thought about going to a nano meet but you feel kinda cheeky just turning up and saying Hi everybody, please fix my car lol

Are there any other usual suspects that can be checked without the aid of a T4

Thanks,
John.

I always thought you had to disconnect the battery before doing this. Thinking about it properly I guess not.. Otherwise, each time that blinking light came on I'd have been punched in the face by the airbag!
