Interesting stuff!!

The Maxxis tyres that are fitted are not directional but the Prime Well tyres are directional and fitted correctly.

i echo the point of 'you get what you pay for', I also think cheap tyres are a false economy anyway. the first thing i did when i bought my '75 was to invest in some low road noise pirelli p6 tyres, you really can hear the difference. I bought them online too so saved some money there, think it was only £56 a tyre, but that was 2 years ago.

I have "UniRoyal Rainexpert" tyres on my car, and am very pleased with them, they grip well on wet roads and run very quietly.. Lovely tyre @ £200 for four innit..

4 for 200 thats good but also shows that budget tyres are acceptable on both noise and grip !

I would love to buy 4 quality tyres for £200 but Uniroyal rain expert are currently £79 each fitted at Blackcircles online. Others are equally or more expensive.

When I bought my car it had a set of new sunny tyres. You would of thought a wheel bearing had gone. I put my own alloys from my ZT on which had a set of Manervas on it and it was as quite as a mouse. Difference was incredible.

Why would you class UniRoyal as budget tyres. They aren't.......

Been looking and 225/45/18 are £125 a corner

Still I don't quite get the idea that cheap is necessarily bad.

Have had Federals on mine since 2008 and will be buying them again (5th set to date)
£80 each.............cheap.............maybe
But I like them and they suit my way of driving it seems

Try Camskill for your tyres and have a local place fit them for you. They usually charge about £10 per tyre or less, including valve, balancing and disposal of the old tyre. This is always cheaper for me than Blackcircles on like for like tyres. http://www.camskill.co.uk/

Linglong Greenmax (don't laugh) are excellent tyres, quiet and very good in the wet on my Honda Accord, but may be different on a 75/ZT: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Li.../Green-Max.htm

I had Uniroyal Rain Experts on my Saab 900 Turbo and they were brilliant. Unbelievably grippy and still quiet. Its worth bearing in mind that a tyre's performance is very changeable when fitted to different cars.

Perfect match for the 75.
