Before getting too complicated try swapping the heater blower relay with the one for the heated rear screen in the underbonnet fuse box.

They are both yellow and can be identified by looking at the underside of the lid at the pictorial display.

If it then works ok you can buy a replacement for five to ten pounds.

ok so ive tried switching the relays over but nothing the centre console lights up but nothing blowing

ive have just changed the airbag srs ecu which has fixed my problem with airbag light many thanks to brain for all his help on this so while I have the centre console out id like to try and fix this before I put it back also Im gonna bend the handbrake joint thingy a bit see if I can get this through its mot 3 clicks I hear should have a good bite
