Tourer Rear Shock lower Bush - Can it be changed?
My newly acquired CDT Tourer has a bit of a clonk at the rear end.
Had a quick look yesterday and it seems to be coming from the lower rear shock mounting which has quite a lot of play. They don't seem to be listed at Rimmer Bros and I don't want to replace the whole shock - does anyone know if the the bushes can be changed and if so where I can get one.

Hi
Are you sure it is the bush thats worn? I had a similar knock from the rear of my tourer following a rear spring change. Problem turned out to be the lower shock mount that was loose despite the bolt being fully tightened. I don't know why this can happen and I sorted mine by removing the bolt and then refitting with washers under the bolt head. Worth a try. |

I also had a knocking from the rear offside damper lower locating point, no matter how much I tightened up the bolt it still rattled so as Boater said I also fitted an extra washer tightened up and no more rattling job done so give it a go try a washer before getting a new damper.

Success - removed and cleaned up the bolt and re-torqued to 155 Nm and no more clonk! Took 10 mins and didn't even have to jack up the car.
Thanks everyone for your help...
