Default Drowned..... ;-(

My 75 and Jumper75's cars have drowned..... ;-) The water level was some 5 feet above the roofs of the cars And the Landy... !! Both cars were SORN'd and not insured as we were trying to get round to doing some work on both to get them through the MoT...... The wooden steering wheels are apparently salvageable..... along with a couple of other bits. Luckily we had emptied the cars of most things.... The Landy is now working again ..... but the Rovers are FUBAR'd.....

After the waters had receded.... some 8 feet.......

And after the flood had dropped some 10 feet..... This was Llechryd Bridge... (which is still closed)...

I can't see the pictures Andrew, the server you've hosted them on appears to be password protected

Sounds very sad though

Sorry to hear this but let it be a lesson to everyone with a car on SORN, keep it insured. Both of mine are on SORN but I keep the insurance valid on both

HI Andrew.
What a terrible thing to happen, as above no photo's available due to the cloud being pass word protected, every single year we get these floods and will the government do anything to help NO.

Sorry to hear about the 75's. Modern (relatively) cars wont tolerate standing in water for any length of time as water will get into the ecu's , not necessarily straight away, but will migrate down the wiring harness which may take a couple of months, so initially all may be well but later on problems can occur. We did some tests at Rover after one particularly bad rainfall when management wanted vehicles to be able to withstand 24 hrs in one metre of water, the only solution was to fit military connectors which was too expensive so the idea was dropped. Vehicles with no electronics can usually be resurrected , I remember one article in a Rover Review magazine detailing a Series One Land Rover being pulled out of a lake where it had been for many month and after draining and changing all the oils, was started and driven away . Brakes needed further work.
