I tendentially agree. It´s mainly a matter of careful maintenance. As long as there exist suppliers of spares and as long as there exists an enthusiastic community it should be possible to keep a considerable number of 75s on the road the next decades. I´m 52 years old now so that my personal statistical life expectancy is around 25 to 30 years and I am hell-bent to keep both my 75s on the road this time.

One of the best cars ever to come from Britain. And sadly enough the last one insofar I can´t really accept the modern Tatas and BMWs ... errr ... Jags and Minis as potentially classic British cars. At the bottom the last existing real British cars are Aston Martin and Morgan.

As a life long British car fan & collector who is currently living in China I feel compelled to preserve the end of the Rover line ( I know some of your purists may/will disagree with that ! ) by shipping my Roewe 750e back to Canada when I repatriate.

A few months ago I would have doubted this statement, but our youngest boy is working at the local scrappy (Sorry, "Vehicle End of Life Centre"). He recently showed me a very nice Clio, a Polo, and an Astra all brought in because the MOT was due. Not failed, just due. One of the lads at the yard is now running the Clio himself. They had a call to pick up a Daihatsu 4x4 that had been standing for a while unused. They stuck in a new battery and it's now in use at the yard. Maybe things will change post-Covid. A lot of folk will be strapped for cash, and perhaps keeping a car going will make more sense than taking on debt to simply replace it.

Is that the waterless stuff?

Think so.
I have 'Greased Lightning Showroom Shine', same kind of stuff.
They claim you can use it straight on the car, and the wax element of the mixture basically lubricates the dirt off the paintwork.
I just can't bring myself to do it, because it sounds too good to be true. I wash first to remove all crud, then use the Waterless Wash. It's actually great at lifting off things like tar spots, leaves the car beading up nicely.

The Williams waterless one has been advertised on TV, with demonstrations of it being used (no water) on various cars. Hence my question to Rob.

Used it for years. Great stuff. Recently changed to Anachem products. Their "Hybrid" quick wax is frankly astonishing value and durability.

Using it since August, use much less product than the Greased Lightning, and I was using Greased Lightning for just under 9 years constantly. Also locally sourced and produced in Northern Ireland.

Water beading and actual feel is significant, and it's a neutral waxing effect so doesn't tint the colour. Also compared to GL it's a lot less buffing to polish.
