Would it not be possible to glue the transponder from working key next to ignition or does it have to be inside the remote.

As long as the transponder is within 2cm of the black ring of the keyhole then it will work, doesn't have to be within the keyfob but I don't know what your insurance company would say if the car was stolen.

Think quite a few traders can help with a new chip, Chris, Jamie, BigRuss take your pick.

Many years ago when we were looking at the ultimate remote to also enable remote starting we tried quite a few variations. From what I can remember if you place the transponder around the black ring area, when you come to lock the car with the remote it won't lock, it thinks the key is still in the ign

BigRuss is definitely the way to go

Yep that's right Dave, what about enabling bathrobe locking with a T4 though? That lets you lock the car with the engine running - I'll have to check to see if it also allows locking with the engine off but still sensing the chip.

Why look for half ar5ed solutions when Russ is only 40 odd miles away and you can get it done right
