Putting the 'i' on any diesel vehicle is a marketing ploy. Did you ever see a diesel engine with a carburettor?

I enquired with my insurance company when I had my 116 diesel, they got back to me and said if I went ahead with the 160 remap, I would have to find another insurer. They said they wouldn’t cover that as it was an increase of over 30hp.
So I asked them about the 131(135) map and they were happy with that for a small increase, can’t remember how much.

My 1964 TR4 is significantly uprated mechanically and electrically and all modifications have been disclosed to my insurers who incidentally also insure my ZT190 & 260. Even so externally the only difference are the 72 spoke cww, slightly lower stance and straight through bullet s/s exhaust. All on 3000m each agreed value.
Best to always declare modifications / changes. Last edited by 2750 HP; 16th April 2021 at 10:27.. |

I suppose the depth to which an insurer goes depends on the size of the claim?
An engine could be tested on an engine dynamometer fairly easily should the claim warrant it. Back in the day I tested many competitors engines when at Longbridge. |

I'm with flux and they didn't bat an eyelid. They didn't ask me power output or anything.

Not INJECTION or INTERCOOLER it's INTERCOOLED. The engine differences are the maps and the airflow sensor in the upper boost hose. as said it's simply marketing.
