Morning Andy, Phil, Clive and all

Went out for a stroll for the sunrise, didn't really amount to much!

Saw a lovely boat though.......What do you think?

I hate seeing boats like that .....

I always want to take it on as a renovation project - but I know nothing of boats so it is just a pipe dream.

But those old boats just exude a feeling of hand built craftsmanship. To think of it sailing around when new and well cared for leaves me always in sadness and wanting to “do something”.

There is a fishing boat graveyard in Plymouth. Allen took me there a few years back. Was a sorry sight to see. In some places you could just see the ribs sticking out of the mud. They would be deliberately run aground then stripped of anything valuable and the rest left to rot.

Morning everyone, a day yesterday driving up north and overnight in a nice hotel in Nanyuki. We met up with one of Jessica’s school friends from pony club who said she had Covid but had recovered, that was good to know bless her heart. Just about to go to breakfast then heading off up to Archers Post and the semi desert region. Blue skies and 30C forecast, have a fabulous day.

Morning Phil, Dennis progressing well thanks for asking, she has increased her hours at work to 6 hr shifts from 4 hr ones, slow and steady as they say.

Enjoy your trip, not jealous of the temperatures at all 👍

Sadly this one is beyond saving. More rotten wood than good.
It has had most of the machinery removed for salvage along with anything else that was of use.
If you look in the foreground of the picture you will see a pile. That is the remains of the previous boat which was burnt after stripping. This one will meet the same fate sadly.
At least what is salvageable will go on to live another day

There a few places like that on the Norfolk Broads. A lot of old Wherries met that fate.

There is also the half sunken remains of a World War 1 gunboat at Salhouse Broad!

Cool

Morning all from a bright day.

Off to the doctors for my monthly blood test. Then dropping the Bear off for her MOT and a service.

And home to get the house ready for my visitors tomorrow. Got friends from South London popping in for a cuppa, they are on holiday in Devon.

Just near Rockland is the Wherry grave yard, owners sunk them before going to war so no one took them whilst they were away, sadly some of the owners never returned to refloat them.RIP
