thankyou mike. can i ask you if your car came with the damper vibration rubbers at the bottom of the shocks to hub ? mine did not. having looked on rimmers website at the bolts that i have ordered they seem to suggest that the bolt is fitted in conjunction with these. that probably means that they are longer than required for those without. ? having never fitted or seen these bushes i wonder if i should buy a shorter 12.9 x 14mm x 2mm pitch bolt. does anyone know what extra or shorter length bolt is required or not for fitting these rubber vibration bushes if any ? have they a metal bush insert or just compress ? any info appreciated. ... xsport.

looking at rimmers drawings it appears that the hub to damper bolts listed are for the zt short shocks. so the damper bolts for the 75 saloon must have been shorter or thats the way it appears. that part is no longer available and has been superseeded. presumably so that you buy the damper rubbers as well ? since rimmers deleted most of the bolt sizes from their website ( so you cant buy from another supplier) i still dont know the length of the standard bolts without rubber vibration bushes fitted ... as mine were. .... and im not tempting fate by removing mine ! well not yet anyway ..

I’m guessing (and it’s only a guess) that the bolts will be the same length, where the bolt passes through the dampener is only a couple of mm thick so shouldn’t require a bolt of a different length.

yes andy i think you may well be right.the end of the bolt is a dog face which is stepped down and unthreaded which possibly allows it to enter the end space thats vacant if no bush is required. thankyou andy. ....

No I think the rubbers were part of Project Drive, and luckily my car was built well before that. |

one last thing to add to this. whilst the dog bolt may be the only one available now i have bought some 2mm spacer flat s/st washers just in case they are needed. it makes me think that the dampers themselves that i bought KYB from ecp were slightly thinner in width on the bolt compared to the O.E.M originals i removed. i will check this out over the next week or so...

the washer that is in the rimmer drawing is fitted on mine too. i am told they are dished for failsafe. the dish hollow i presume goes to the bolt head side or is it the other way round. just being carefull which side of it i put on an extra flat spacer washer ..
