Could start with a new set of wiper blades before it rains again.
Mine looked scratched, changed the blades for some German ones on ebay. and now the screen is clear. |

I don't think there is an effective DIY remedy.
Toughened glass needs grinding polishing................not easy. Specialist firms out there but you'll pay.....................probably cheaper to get a new or good secondhand screen.........................or cheaper still to live with it. |

Depends on the deepness of the scratch, some products are available to polish the edge of the scratch to make it less noticeable.Try a local windscreen replacement specialist to see if they can advise.

Polishing out scratches can make the glass uneven and leave it as though your looking through water all the time. The only remedy IMHO is a new screen or live with it.

If you get more than one chip, I hope they're 4" or more apart, otherwise they can't be repaired, as I found out myself very recently!

You could try your local glass merchant to see if they have a bit of 'jewellers rouge' that you could have. But, be careful, because , as stated, too much rubbing in one area can cause distortion. On the subject of blades, i always clean mine when i wash the car. You will be surprised as to how much dirt comes off of them if you have not done this before. Surprising how many people don't when i have spoken to them about it!! Should make them last a bit longer as well!!! Regards, Dave. |

Jewellers rouge is available on e-bay. I bought some last year and polished out some scratches on my MGF. Its hard work doing it manually but it does work!
